About Us


Mari Mujica, Ph.D., is a coach, trainer, and educator with expertise in cultural competency, mindfulness, and leadership. Dr. Mujica has worked as an internal and external consultant and public speaker in several industries and with diverse populations.

After completing her undergraduate degree in Communication Studies from the Universidad de Lima in Peru, Mari Mujica left her native country to pursue a Master of Arts in Cultural Studies from the University of Birmingham, England. She then obtained a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Iowa.

Mari's diversity training began as a graduate student and an active member of the Women Against Racism Committee in Iowa City. Upon graduating and moving to New England, Dr. Mujica taught in colleges in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She later became the Equal Opportunity/Diversity Specialist at the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth, and a skilled facilitator of staff, faculty and student empowerment and cultural competency development. Since then, she has developed, implemented, and facilitated curricula for students of all ages, faculty, administrators and staff in public and private educational institutions, and personnel in non-profit organizations and a variety of industries from manufacturing to banking.

Dr. Mujica has received additional training in Sexual Harassment, Gender, Violence Prevention, Organizational Development, and by the National Multicultural Institute, the SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) Project on Inclusive Curriculum, and the National Coalition Building Institute. She has been the recipient of several honors and awards, including a Women in Higher Education Professional Development Award that she used to pursue training in Human Rights Education with the Peruvian Institute of Education in Human Rights and Peace. She is also a member of the Lambda Alpha National Anthropological Honor Society.
